WELCOME TO FINDON VILLAGE
The community website for Findon in West Sussex
  • Situated within the South Downs National Park, Findon is a downland village designated as an area of Outstanding National Beauty. There are plenty of country walks including historic Monarch’s way, a 615 mile footpath which passes through the village.

  • There are no shortage of places to eat and drink in the village, with three public houses, two restaurants, a cafe and a hotel. There is also a post office, general store, butchers and a small number of other shops and services.

  • Findon Sheep Fair and Village Festival takes place on the 2nd weekend of September each year, and has done so for over 200 years. Apart from sheep judging competitions there is entertainment for all ages including a funfair.

  • Findon is steeped in history. Situated at the base of Cissbury Ring - the second largest Hill Fort in the country (dating back to the Iron age), the village was mentioned in the Domesday Book, and the Gun Inn dates back to the early 17th Century.

  • Findon has 2 racing stables. One of them can boast two grand National winners, one of which (Aldaniti ridden by Bob Champion) was the subject of the film Champions starring John Hurt and Edward Woodard.
